The English Department at Greenville Technical College is a welcoming community that offers courses in composition with emphasis on research and rhetoric. Our vision is to elevate students’ ability to communicate clearly, critically, and creatively through writing. In addition, our faculty offers literature courses covering a variety of genres and periods.
For extra help, a Writing Center, with experienced tutors is available.
We offer a diverse selection of literature courses including American Literature, British Literature, World Literature, Women’s Literature, Children’s Literature, Graphic Literature, Short Fiction and Creative Writing. These courses fulfill AA, AS, and transfer requirements and can be used as transferable electives.

ENG
ENG 101, 102, 165, 201, 202, 205, 206, 207, 208, 209, 235, 238 and 230 are offered as online courses as well as in a traditional format.
ENG 012 Co-Requisite
ENG 012 is a one-credit hour co-requisite course designed to reinforce and strengthen the skills needed for success in the curriculum-level ENG 101 course. The co-requisite course is taught by the same instructor teaching the curriculum course and offers additional, focused support. The 012 co-requisite is required for ENG 101 unless the student meets the Multiple Measures placement criteria to not take the co-requisite.
Greenville Technical College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Degree-granting institutions also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.
